Job Summary
The primary function of this position is to achieve pharmacy growth goals for the US Commercial line of business. Key to the success will be developing novel approaches to dislodge incumbent carriers and win new clients at an accelerated rate. This role will collaborate directly with CIGNA executives and serve as a lead contact for all Pharmacy strategic growth opportunities. The position will invent and drive strategies resulting in innovative growth methodologies and accelerated gain in market share of integrated clients. There will be an emphasis on strategies that impact the client and producer as key stakeholders. The role requires significant executive presence.
Essential Functions
- Market Intel: conducts market and technology research. Use extensive market knowledge to create and manage specific growth plans; perform data analysis and identify market insights using proprietary growth consulting tools; and works cross functionally with product teams, finance, operations, account management, and sales.
- Strategy Development: Assesses, evaluates, establishes and develops business opportunities. Develop new initiatives and partnerships. Requires knowledge in several professional areas and the ability to integrate critical information from many diverse areas. Forecasts business opportunities growth and success of the organization.
- Insight Management: provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Business Development matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Represents the company point-of-view in high level presentations. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Business Development assignments.
- Expand market: establishes plans and executes activities that directly support the implementation and optimization of efforts to grow segment-specific sales, revenue, profit, and market share. Negotiates with and influences management of various sales channels to provide focus or additional strategies to meet market objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience,
- 5+ years applicable healthcare experience is required.
- 7+ years applicable pharmacy experience is required.
- Strong strategic thinking and self-motivation are crucial for this role.
- Pharmacy Pricing experience a plus
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify market trends and translate strategies, data and customer insights into actions/requirements/implementation to drive results.
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills and experience presenting to leaders across functional disciplines.
- Strong relationship management skills, to set and meet shared expectations with clients and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to navigate an ever-changing landscape and a matrix organization.
- Pharmacy expertise is essential for success in this role. A strong background in integrated health benefits or commercial employer lines of business is preferred.
- Mastery of communication tools and software, including word, PPT and Excel.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet business objectives.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 112,700 - 187,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
