Sr. Business Systems Analyst - Operation Applications

The Sr Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Operations Applications is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of projects and tasks in varying IT areas that support our manufacturing operations, quality, and ground and flight operations teams. The ideal applicant has an affinity for collaborating with end users to translate capability needs into product recommendations. These needs may be solved through application development, application support, systems administration, business intelligence, business process improvements, training, and other business activities.
As a Sr Business System Analyst, you will have a strong understanding of IT practices and terminology in order to be knowledgeable enough to know when to raise questions in order to correctly drive the project execution tasks to completion. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. The pace is exceptionally fast at Sierra Space, and our dynamic environment will see many new projects in the coming year. The Sr Business Systems Analyst will need to be agile and flexible, as changes will be certain and frequent.
Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Must-haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 10 or more years of relevant experience
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

Preferred:

• Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address process improvements
• • Strong knowledge of requirements documentation tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, Jira, and/or Azure DevOps
• Experience with data mapping and documentation of system integration metadata and touchpoints necessary for implementation
• Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying for use in documenting data requirements
• Strong knowledge of project planning and execution, using tools such as MS Project
• Understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies
• Strong presentation, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,552.10 - $165,759.14. Sierra Space considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
