The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing $80+ million in various indirect goods and services, including IT, Equipment, Domestic and International Freight, HR, Legal, Marketing, Advertising, Temp Labor, and Travel through a systematic procure-to-pay platform. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive sourcing projects to successful completion by performing market analysis, the RFX process, negotiations, contract creation, and contract management
  • Develop strong relationships with internal business partners
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives to align with company goals
  • Perform industry analyses to assess micro- and macro-economic factors, conduct financial analyses to identify industry opportunities and create strategies for risk mitigation
  • Determine the total cost of ownership for products and services procured
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, cost structure, risks, performance, etc.
  • Drive supplier scorecards/ratings on an ongoing basis to measure supplier performance
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to track the resolution of GEP SMART issues and progress on key system enhancements
  • Review/redline contracts/order forms across multiple procurement categories


Qualifications

  • BS or BA in Purchasing, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology or another business-related field
  • Five years of relevant procurement experience
  • Solid negotiation, analytical and reporting skills
  • Expertise in financial analysis with knowledge of cost model development
  • Team player with the ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and hands-on with one of the Source-to-Pay solution
  • Strong preference for two-plus years of experience using/supporting GEP SMART (Source-to-Pay) solution
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, legal, procurement, finance and other departments as needed to accomplish daily tasks and issues
  • Comfortable with engaging suppliers and leading internal calls for project resolution
  • Experienced with summarizing and effectively communicating contract summaries to senior executives
  • Ability to prioritize sourcing funnels and delegate effectively to Category Leader(s)
