This role:

We are excited to partner with our client in the search for a seasoned Senior Capex Procurement Manager. This pivotal role demands a blend of expertise and enthusiasm for managing the capital expenditure procurement cycle within the pharmaceutical industry. You will be instrumental in overseeing the sourcing, contracting, and efficient acquisition of goods and services for vital capital projects, including high-speed fill lines, pre-filled syringe lines, lyophilizers, and isolators to name a few. Your role will be crucial in ensuring Simtra’s growth plans are achieved on time and within budget. This position is a remote position, and the candidate will report to the Sr. Director of Indirect Procurement.

The responsibilities:

• Strategically lead the entire Capex procurement cycle, from needs assessment to contract finalization
• Design and implement procurement strategies for capital projects, optimizing cost, quality, risk, and schedule
• Build and sustain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Conduct contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and pricing for Capex initiatives
• Identify and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities within the procurement process
• Manage a substantial capital expenditure budget, ensuring effective and efficient allocation of resources
• Keep abreast of and incorporate industry best practices in Capex procurement
• Formulate and enforce procurement policies and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, project management, finance) to achieve aligned objectives
• Analyze procurement data to uncover and address areas needing improvement
• Actively manage procurement risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
• Uphold strict compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in procurement, with a preference for pharmaceutical industry experience
• Proven track record in managing Capex procurement projects
• Advanced negotiation and contract management expertise
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude
• Comprehensive knowledge of procurement best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software
• Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment
• Experience with GMP compliance is a plus
