Sr. Channel Marketing Manager

This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of channel marketing activities and programs for Allegion Commercial & Residential Americas with a focus on our wholesale channel as well as locksmith and discretionary security integrator channels. This includes the purchasing and promotion of both mechanical and electronic products and selling primarily to various end user verticals, locksmiths, glass/glazing businesses, integrators, residential dealers and contract distributors. The focus of the Wholesale Senior Channel Marketing Manager is to enable sales with the full breadth of our mechanical and electronic portfolios for use in discretionary or aftermarket repair/replace/upgrade projects.

The Wholesale Senior Channel Marketing Manager will work closely with sales, product management, brand & solutions marketing, cross functional discretionary channel leaders, finance, and global digital business teams. This role also coordinates conversations with wholesalers to establish and manage a complete marketing strategy, and coaches other team members on marketing strategies with the Locksmith and Security Integrator channels. This role will manage customer-specific programs that are driven by customer insights, support existing distribution while implementing strategies and processes to develop new growth initiatives through the wholesale channel that are aligned with our overall company growth targets.

This position is a key touch point between Allegion, sales, and our Wholesale Distribution to capture and leverage insights into communications to ensure successful adoption of programs, promotions, solution commercialization, and business growth initiatives. In addition, this leadership role will manage similar coordination of marketing activities internally and externally with Locksmith and discretionary Security Integrator channels. This position will report directly to the Director of Field Marketing and Training.

What You Will Do:

  • Primary marketing communication leader with Wholesale sales team members and customers. Including coordination with Strategic Business Units, Digital, and other disciplines as noted above. Represents a single point of contact for delivering key information.
  • Coaches team member in managing communication with locksmiths and discretionary security integrators as well as sales and other cross business disciplines.
  • Primary communication lead from Sales and Customers back to the Business, Digital, Finance, and other teams within the disciplines as noted above. Represents a single point of contact for Voice of Customers and Voice of Sales strategy.
  • Drive key channel promotions and marketing initiatives across various B2B categories including development programs, promotions, and rebate programs
  • Key point of contact and vendor relationship with business development/co-op funds program
  • Develop annual planning calendar aligned with product launch plans and focus areas and work with wholesalers to implement yearly use of business development/co-op funds to support our growth
  • Actively engage in face-to-face meetings with wholesalers for recurring business planning meetings, rolling out new programs, promotions, and product launches and driving usage of business development/co-op funds.
  • Assess performance of the channel relative to their end customers and capabilities and recommend appropriate actions to Marketing & Sales Management to target growth areas
  • Lead planning & coordination of monthly meetings with internal Wholesale channel sales leadership and sales consultants, including Locksmith or Integrator channel leaders
  • Ensure marketing materials and programs are field-ready for channel activation, and market adoption is scaled & reviewed
  • Establish and manage channel communication plan though regular emails, webcasts, partner events, and online portal content
  • Communicate with channel partners to assess customer need, drive alignment of channel marketing budget with key business initiatives and channel needs
  • Identify and support local/regional industry events with customers, as well as plan overall strategy and execute various logistics for larger shows such as the SHDA conference and Allegion Partnership Summit.
  • Oversees channel research projects to collect valuable information regarding market trends and implements channel campaigns, utilizes market data and analyses to recommend marketing strategies to upper management.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience working with Wholesale channel management and/or within a complex Go-to-market strategy
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • B2B experience preferred. Expertise in creating dynamic B2B channel strategy in $1B+ organizations
  • Solid understanding of multi-step distribution and indirect channel sales
  • Understanding of sales pipeline and channel management; including experience supporting pricing strategy for various channel partners, navigating market pricing dynamics
  • Previous user or strong exposure to sales and/or marketing automation tools
  • Excellent ability to collaborate across functions - Sales, Product Management, Customer Service, Vertical Marketing, Marketing Communications, Finance, and IT
  • Results-oriented with proven execution skills
  • Ability to travel 25%
