As part of the Client Service team, the Sr. Client Onboarding Manager will independently implement new clients and funds for institutional clients of Voya Investment Management, across all asset classes and public and private investment products, including equity, fixed income, leveraged credit and multi-asset for all external U.S. and non-U.S. asset management (Public, Corporate & Taft-Hartley Pension plans, Insurance Company and Retirement). Strengthen the organization's relationships with new institutional client accounts by seamlessly onboarding clients and collaborating within the firm to deliver on Voya Investment Management's commitment to clients.

Please Note: This position allows remote work from home but will require travel to our Voya office as business requires. Candidates must be located within a 50-mile radius from your assigned office.

As part of the Client Service team, the Sr. Client Onboarding Manager will independently implement new clients and funds for institutional clients of Voya Investment Management, across all asset classes and public and private investment products, including equity, fixed income, leveraged credit and multi-asset for all external U.S. and non-U.S. asset management (Public, Corporate & Taft-Hartley Pension plans, Insurance Company and Retirement). Strengthen the organization's relationships with new institutional client accounts by seamlessly onboarding clients and collaborating within the firm to deliver on Voya Investment Management's commitment to clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Following rigorous processes and workflows, lead implementation of new business by serving as primary project manager and liaison between client, clients' custodian banks, and Voya teams to onboard custom investment mandates and launch funds (onshore and offshore).
- Lead collaboration: negotiating contracts and investment policies, defining service deliverables, partnering within the Client Service team and all Voya departments to establish account and operating requirements.
- Effectively communicate and partner with cross-functional internal teams, incl. Investment, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Data, Sales, Marketing, Product, as well as external service providers (e.g., custodians, consultants, advisors) on new business initiatives and client relationships.
- Perform all "Know-your-Client", beneficial owner, AML and suitability responsibilities in accordance with regulations and Voya policies.
- Proactively create solutions, document processes, and deliverables following rigorous review; with collaboration across the firm. Seek resolution to bespoke issues or obstacles as they arise.
- Utilize designated systems fully, maintaining all details of client requirements, ensuring accurate records of client and portfolio data in all integrated systems (Shareholder, CRM, Workflow).
- Apply investment industry knowledge and experience in operational Institutional client onboarding and other Client Service matters to effectively undertake and manage issues, identify opportunities to enhance and/or expand services provided to all institutional clients and support implementation of improvements to internal processes, communications, and service delivery.
- Lead projects and/or participate on multi-functional project teams to support new business initiatives.
- Ensure continuous collaboration and full integration with Client Service and Operational teams via frequent teleconference and project management updates.
KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of investment management business/asset management industry; client onboarding experience in this specific industry as well as all regulatory aspects, including KYC, CID, CRD and AML.
- Service oriented, client-focused, consultative philosophy.
- Proactive ownership and leadership approach.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional project management skills: able to independently drive projects and effectively address issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to articulate complex information in simple terms.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and handle multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
- Ability to administer and optimize technology tools, both custom built and vendor (MS, Salesforce, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of client service, consulting, and/or operational experience within the Investment Management / Financial Services industry, working closely with institutional external clients.
- Institutional client onboarding experience within asset management / financial service firms is preferred.
- Knowledge of fixed income, equity, public and private markets, asset management products.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field highly desired.
- Advanced degree or CFA, a plus.
- Position will be hybrid work from home in the vicinity of Voya office in Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, or Windsor, CT. Limited travel required.
