Sr. Cloud Engineer - Andover, MA

Smith & Nephew's Arthroscopic Enabling Technologies division is working on the development of the next generation of medical devices that enable surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery. As we grow, we are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer, who will be a major contributor to the R&D of software as a medical device, and hospital information systems.

What will you be doing?

• Design cloud environments with a focus on AWS and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructure.
• Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.
• Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standard methodologies.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Platform, DevOps, and Integration Teams to ensure cloud adoption follows standard best practices.
• Analysis and design software systems, work on software requirements and high-level software architecture design.
• Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Implement and manage user access controls, multi-factor authentication(MFA), and role-based access controls(RBAC) using Okta.

What will you need to be successful?

• Education: BS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
• MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.

• Experience: 4+ years of software development experience
• 4+ years of proven experience in cloud applications
• 2+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
• Ability to code within AWS environments
• Solid understanding of modern software development practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DevOps
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams

• Certifications: Agile Scrum Certification preferred
• AWS certification preferred.

• Travel Requirements: 10%
