Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced communicator to serve as a business partner to our chemicals divisions, comprised of a specialty division and an intermediate chemicals division. The successful candidate must be highly organized and an excellent communicator with the ability to translate highly complex information into information that can be easily understood by a variety of audiences. Examples include creation of simple value propositions, sales collateral and information used in media material. The position will report to the Communications Manager and provide strategic and tactical support to these business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a business partner and communications resource to assigned business units and leaders
  • Learn and understand the businesses' objectives, product strategies and key markets, and define strategic communications plans in support of business goals and priorities.
  • Develop all communication material including press releases, marketing collateral, presentations, trade show messaging, website and social media content, etc.
  • Direct internal communications activities focused on informing our employee community on the progress of the business unit.
  • Ensure that brand values and visual identity are incorporated into deliverables.
  • Regularly monitor and report on the results of communications plans.
  • Support regional and global corporate communications initiatives as needed.

  • Reports to: Communications Manager


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years corporate communications experience, prior B2B and/or chemical experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with specialized focus on Mass Communications, Journalism, Writing, Public Relations, etc.


REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Outstanding writing, storytelling and editing skills
  • Proven track record developing content for a variety of channels (print, email, web, social media, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to distill complex information into digestible and compelling content
  • Ability to juggle multiple high priority projects simultaneously and rebalance priorities as needed
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and teamwork between colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to independently and effectively counsel clients
  • Strategic approach with a focus on the 'bigger picture' - taking separate projects and developing a narrative that connects them
  • Experience with change management initiatives and colleague engagement strategies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint presentation development capabilities
