Job Description

Twist Bioscience is looking for a Communications Generalist focused on Internal Communications responsible for providing communications support across the organization for all divisions of the company. Reporting to the Sr VP, Corporate Affairs, the Communications Generalist will be responsible for developing a wide range of written, verbal, and digital communications assets to raise the visibility of Twist Bioscience. This person will develop, support and execute on all aspects of corporate affairs, with engagement across internal communications, ESG efforts, public relations corporate communications and investor relations. You will work closely with the Sr VP, Corporate Affairs on communications strategies for all business areas including synthetic biology, next-generation sequencing, biopharma and data storage.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute a variety of internal communications programs including intranet content strategies and management, all employee meetings, manager meetings, and other relevant all company/department/geographic communications
  • Support all aspects of corporate affairs strategy 
  • Identify and deploy communication around guiding principles, strategic pillars, values
  • Engage and guide leaders in all departments with key communications rollouts 
  • Enable managers to communicate effectively with their teams, cascading messages throughout the organization
  • Effectively facilitate executive communications throughout the company
  • Work closely with human resources team to implement key employee programs
  • Strategize and support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts 
  • Develop strategy for corporate events calendar and implement effectively working closely with key stakeholders
  • Coach internal stakeholders for more effective communication, thought leadership
  • Produce regular analysis reports for executive leadership to identify key insights and recommend actions.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to elevate Twist’s brand among key audiences.
  • Project management for video development, campaigns, other corporate projects
  • Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements. 

What You’ll Bring to the Team 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business, or science field
  • 2-5+ Years of experience in relevant field (communications, blogger, journalist, public relations manager, copywriter, etc.)
  • Curiosity for understanding new scientific developments and technology advancements.
  • Outstanding written skills and ability to create high-quality content in quick time frame.
  • Attention to detail, passion for branding, and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
  • Self-motivated individual with passion for storytelling
  • Tech-savvy and familiarity with online tracking and monitoring tools

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range

$107,722—$130,000 USD
