Sr. Contract and Technical Sourcing Specialist

Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a Contract and Technical Sourcing Specialist to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. This position will work with the facilities and process equipment engineering functions of Solid Power to source technical goods and contract technical services critical to organizational success.

Job Duties

• Support Solid Power capital projects through the sourcing of technical equipment and technical services critical to project success.
• Manage capital project sourcing and procurement support from identification of need through development of RFP’s, bid reviews, negotiation, contract management, product delivery, and warranty.
• Lead the sourcing of suppliers and assist in the selection of suppliers, acting as primary contact for contract negotiation and administration throughout capital project execution.
• Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) specifying bid format for proper benchmarking and comparison of bids to allow for the negotiation of greatest value purchase price, terms, and conditions.
• Assist in determination of equipment specifications and supplier requirements.
• Conduct industry research to identify potential suppliers. Proactively develop business relationships with new partners for future evaluation.
• Evaluate suppliers based on products, services, and prices.
• Generate metrics to assess supplier performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Identify and eliminate waste and/or variability in the supply chain of technical goods and services.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience procuring technical goods and services for project values of $1M to $200M.
• Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision as well as part of a team. 
• Ability to negotiate and interpret contracts and handle vendor conflicts as they occur.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skillset.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and understand technical documents (including, but not limited to, specifications and drawings) are required.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with engineers, designers, Procurement, internal clients, vendors, and technical resources.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000/year
