Compensation
The compensation target range for this role is:
$80,800 - $95,000
Job Summary
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for technical work with respect to automation projects and service provided to the Operations team. The role of Controls Engineer comes with a variety of different responsibilities and options to pursue many career paths.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ Â

Build and manage facility controls teamÂ
-
Lead controls team in new and existing equipment projectsÂ
-
Manage electrical contractors to maintain facility electrical systemsÂ
-
Guide installation of equipment and balance circuits for proper power distributionÂ
-
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment involving mechanical and electrical componentsÂ
-
Design control panels to UL standards.Â
-
Possess VFD programming and troubleshooting skillsÂ
-
Manage and lead controls team during after hour call outs to repair machinery (all hours)Â
-
Work closely with mechanical engineering team modify production machineryÂ
-
Ability to accurately calculate load and breaker sizing for machineryÂ
-
Program automation controllers utilizing IEC 61131-3 programming languagesÂ
-
Program and troubleshoot Emerson (GE), Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC’s and HMI’sÂ
-
Draw basic and complex electrical circuit diagramsÂ
-
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for electrical failuresÂ
-
Design and implement PROFINET, safety, and general network systems.Â
-
Knowledge of Keyence and Banner safety controllers is a plus.Â

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSÂ Â

Associated Degree in an electrical automation program is requiredÂ
-
Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferredÂ
-
5 years of experience in related field is requiredÂ

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTSÂ Â

Possess a strong ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team Â
-
Knowledgeable in the use of a variety of electrical test instrumentation Â
-
Familiar with the use of power tools, forklifts, and hoistsÂ
-
Ability to read, markup, and edit electrical schematic drawings Â
-
Ability to respond and coordinate with maintenance and operations during plant breakdownsÂ
-
Proficient in motor control theoryÂ
-
Knowledge of electrical motor vibration analysis Â
-
Proficient in P&ID design, and drawingÂ
-
Experience with injection molding and extruding machinery a plusÂ
-
Familiar with SolidWorks Electrical a plusÂ
