Job Description
The Sr. Courier performs a variety of operational and delivery duties, such as picking up, sorting, and delivering mail, and transporting checks and deposits to local banks and customer offices. This position is responsible for expedient delivery of all documents, checks and negotiable items, and the prompt completion of assigned errands for general services and other departments. In addition, this position is responsible for record retention, route schedules, and maintenance of company vehicle(s).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Performs a variety of daily courier duties, including making customer pickups and deliveries and routing to proper department(s) for processing; makes special check runs to various banks and title companies for processing.
- Ensures company vehicles are maintained properly by scheduling routine maintenance and servicing vehicles timely. Must be able to promptly address issues in emergency situations.
- Collaborates throughout the day with manager and team members to ensure deadlines are being met.
- Maintains all courier paperwork including manifests, work orders, and retrieval orders.
- Schedules all emergency and priority requests.
- Assists manager with departmental moves and branch moves.
- Assists operations personnel daily in sorting incoming, outgoing, and interdepartmental mail.
- Makes special deliveries and pickups as needed and requested by leadership.
- Maintains records retention and destruction database by entering data, record types, and destruction dates.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience utilizing GPS navigation systems; knowledge of various banks and streets in the St. Louis City and St. Louis County areas preferred.
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills with experience handling confidential information.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Dependable in meeting attendance requirements and adhering to schedules while maintaining flexibility to accommodate unexpected adjustments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
