Sr. Customer Marketing Manager

The Customer Marketing Manager serves as the liaison between Marketing & Sales teams providing the "Voice of the Customer" within the internal organization while serving as "Voice of the Brands" to our customers and external partners. They work closely with cross functional partners and sales teams to develop strong strategies and plans to enhance execution across AMPS+, create compelling sales tools, and support activation from sell-in through execution of the Mars everyday Ice Cream portfolio. As a senior resource on the team, this associate owns areas of high complexity and significant business impact. In addition, they will be expected to take on visible leadership responsibilities within the team. This role requires a high level of servant leadership and must be able to hand off key workstreams between Brand and Sales functions with a high level of expertise and speed.

What are we looking for?

  • Lead the Mars Ice Cream organization through the annual planning and forecasting milestones. Maintain key initiative tracking throughout the annual planning and checkpoint cycles. Lead the development of high quality and fact-based Selling Stories and Ready to Sell (RTS) materials. Translate strategies to long term demand forecasts and in-year demand changes via DMR
  • Bring company and category strategies to life in the marketplace via strong working relationships with sales teams and critical customers as defined by the Mars Ice Cream Marketing and Sales teams. Translate Brand goals to Customer level goals across the 5-year selling cycle.
  • Help support an organizational capability in customer centricity, enable the sales team for selling and executional success, and represent the voice of customer/sales internally
  • Develop winning customer-specific propositions for Mars Ice Cream, along with close partnership with Marketing counterparts to influence future innovation pipeline & programs based on channel insights
  • Provide key data analysis in facilitating new item distribution forecasts by channel / customer. Present key tensions and solutions with facts and data-based perspectives. Communicate these key assumptions and track success against TDP/Velocity metrics over time.
  • Drive sales plans around assortment, merchandising, pricing and shelving for our brands, monitoring and assisting in the delivery of top-line and bottom line commitments from sales perspective
  • Assist in planning, development, and presentation of sales & brand materials at all key Trade Shows and Customer Collaboration Planning sessions, ensuring our sales strategies and brand initiatives are well represented
  • Take responsibility and move with speed to champion channel/customer-specific requirements in planning and product innovation process (right pack, right price to drive category growth)
  • Understand market performance and identify opportunities to improve national promotions and future-year activities.
  • Provide perspective on sales and customer thinking into 5 Year brand/portfolio/channel plans
  • Own key functional/cross-portfolio initiatives, from development of strategies & plans through implementation

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Long-term planning congruent with 5-year iVCP at a customer level
  • Quantifying and understanding Risks/Ops within the S&OP+ cycle and how they affect the long term plan
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on projects you own
  • Presenting plans and projects to sales team, ICLT, Global LT, and any other key stakeholders necessary
