Sr. Customer/Trade Marketing Manager
Job Description
The Customer Marketing Manager plays a critical role in the strategic planning process, driving successful execution of current year objectives, and leading the demand organization through the annual planning process. A strategic thought leader to the cross functional team, the Customer Marketing manager drives retailer/channel priorities as the representative of sales internally, while providing strategic guidance to the sales team, with multi-year vision for long term sustainable growth. Tying long term objectives to the current year expectations, this role ensures sales has the tools and resources to successfully achieve organizational growth targets. This associate is expected to take a visible leadership role within the organization, collaborating to understand market dynamics and driving decisions with the leadership team. As a senior resource on the team, this associate owns areas of high complexity and significant business impact.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelors Degree in Business
- 5+ years of Sales Experience with direct customer management responsibility
- Experience in Convenience, Food Service, or Distributor Management
- Experience in Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Trade Marketing, or Strategic Revenue Management
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Develop multi-year Small Outlet channel strategy, design sales growth pillars, and executable action plans for the sales team
- Lead Annual planning process (National Sales Meeting, Building Blocks, Sales Objectives, Ready to Plan, Ready to Sell, Check Points, and Customer Planning Day) in close partnership with Marketing to ensure strong retailer/channel plans tie to internal brand/strategic objectives
- Partner with sales leadership to deliver key inputs for current year demand process within the S&OP framework, driving discussion with cross functional team, and providing perspective for how consumption and shipment trends tie together, calling out key tensions and highlighting opportunities, providing perspective on current year expectations
- Ensure internal initiatives and sales plans drive the Retailer Value Proposition (attractive margin, category growth, retailer differentiation, ease of execution) through close partnership with Category, SRM, Shopper Marketing, and Digital teams.
- Take responsibility and move with speed to champion channel/customer-specific requirements in planning and product innovation process (right pack, right price to drive category growth) driving long-term quality growth
- Lead internal cross function demand conversations, providing perspective and guidance in periodic cross functional marketing meetings
