Sr. Data Analyst

Purpose:
The IT Sr Data Analyst acts as a primary liaison for Athene Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure that corporate projects and business unit enhancements are implemented appropriately with existing data governance enterprise data glossary systems and reporting requirements.

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the quality of the metadata content within the Enterprise Data Glossary; functionality includes business glossary, data impact & lineage, and data quality profiling and scorecards.
• Supports business adoption and training in the data governance tools and change management.
• Elicits, analyzes, and documents business and technical needs to improve processes and functionality of the Enterprise Data Glossary.
• Performs impact analysis through navigating within the tool or creating SQL queries to get the required information for making change management decisions.
• Maintains processes, standards, training materials, and tracks data governance success measures.
• Identifies and understands data quality issues to discover patterns and track data quality remediation.
• Analyzes business problems and participates in recommendations.
• Acquires data subject area expertise and provides consulting inputs/direction.
• Extensive communication with business and technical subject matter experts for understanding and defining business terms and characteristics.
• Researches the capabilities in future SAP Information Steward product releases to identify new functionality to implement
• Works closely with cross-functional teams of IT analysts, business analysts, data stewards, designers, developers, project manager and others.
• Assists with other data governance activities as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
• 6+ years of business system analysis experience, preferably with heavy data analysis work in understanding data movement, metadata management or data quality.
• Proficient in analysis concepts (data analysis research, context diagrams, process flows).
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with data modeling a plus.
• Experience documenting requirements, analyzing data, facilitating meetings, and coordinating or leading projects.
• Experience with retirement services products, Finance, Insurance Policy, or Actuarial Data a plus.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Strong ability to extract information by questioning, active listening and interviewing
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear standards and user training documentation
• Experience in Information Steward is preferred
• Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira is preferred.
