Sr. Data Scientist (5194)

As Sr. Data Scientist, you’ll focus on Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and General Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). This role is for a defense customer, where you will be working on cutting-edge technology projects that have a direct impact on our national security.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with the team to define project objectives, set key performance metrics, and establish project approaches.
• Leverage new modeling and machine learning approaches to build products with high value to the customer.
• Conduct data preprocessing and manipulation of structured and unstructured data.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights and decide on the appropriate techniques and tools to utilize.
• Present information using data visualization techniques to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work with customers to implement models and monitor outcomes, ensuring algorithms generate accurate and meaningful results.
• Continually learn and stay informed about the latest advancements in the field to stay ahead of emerging threats.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Secret clearance
• 5 years of related experience
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, preferably in the defense industry.
• Strong understanding of machine learning models, data manipulation, and statistical analysis tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of NLP libraries such as NLTK and SpaCy
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and ML APIs.
• Experience with generative AI techniques or transformers architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and customers.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Secret clearance.
• Have an Information Assurance Technical Level II baseline certification in accordance with DoD 8140.01 "Cyberspace Workforce Management"
• Have an ITIL v3 Foundation certification
• Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed technical instructions.
