THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Data Scientist who will be responsible for partnering with our product and cross-functional teams to provide the facts needed to make better decisions and a well-thought point of view to help push our products and services to better serve our customers. You will be responsible for building a strong understanding of our ecosystem, working with the product team to determine which projects are the most important, and being willing to use the right tool (a scripted model, a dashboard, a presentation) to find and explain the relevant and timely findings that help us operate better.

What you'll do:

• Work with Product to provide data-driven insights that will help drive a significant increase in core business KPIs

• Create advanced machine learning and optimization algorithms to enhance Medely's marketplace efficiency on a large scale

• Create internal dashboards to monitor the health of the product and business KPIs (growth, revenue, and engagement)

• Deliver ad-hoc analyses and reports to support business needs, investigate, triage, and resolve metrics-based issues without heavy guidance

• Design experiments and observational studies to draw actionable conclusions

• Create and share compelling presentations that motivate and inspire the team to build with conviction

What you'll need to have:

• Ph.D./M.S. in a quantitative field with 2+ years of experience or a Bachelor with 5+ years of work experience as a data scientist or data engineer

• Experience with experimental design and analysis

• Proficient in SQL & business intelligence tools

• Competency in Python, R, or another scripting language

• Ability to analyze and condense data to tell a persuasive story

• Proven ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams

• Self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, drive change through influence, and collaborate effectively with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders

• Excited and hungry to try new tools and processes to achieve results

• Passionate about building delightful products for our customers

The estimated base compensation for this role is $135,000 to $167,000.

This position may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits including equity, bonus, health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, floating holidays, and paid holidays); and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law.
