West Monroe is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to join our Corporate IT team, branded Information & Collaboration Technology (ICT). We’re looking for someone with the mindset to analyze data coupled with the technical depth necessary to support the continuous improvement of our NextGen Data Analytics Platform. Ideal candidates will have experience designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge Machine Learning technologies. They will also be excited about identifying areas within different firmwide departments where introducing data engineering and machine learning solutions will enable more data-driven decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (processing, cleansing and validating data integrity) and feature engineering for machine learning models
  • Develop, validate and implement machine learning models using Databricks
  • Design, develop, optimize and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to build data and model pipelines and troubleshoot issues
  • Monitor performance of machine learning ecosystem, and other integration solutions to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving overall architecture
  • Present results of solutions in a clear manner
  • Embrace Agile methods to assess current state IT/business processes, gather functional and technical requirements, and identify areas where data engineering and machine learning solutions can be deployed to enable greater efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and ICT teams to implement integration solutions that support various business and technical functions
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the industry, help assess potential vendors, and advocate for the business case to introduce cutting-edge integration solutions to the firm

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-6+ years of experience in data science with a focus on machine learning
  • Proficient in understanding of the different machine learning models and their applications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with Databricks
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL and Spark
  • Knowledge of data cataloging and governance tools (e.g. Alation) is a plus!!!
  • Coding experience in contemporary back-end languages such as C#, Java, Python, Scala
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork effectiveness in a fast-paced, corporate environment
