Sr. Data Security Engineer

As a Senior Data Security Engineer at Zayo Group, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our data security program. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from policy development to proactive data discovery and reporting, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data assets.
Responsibilities:

• Data Security Policy Development: Develop and maintain data security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information.
• Privacy Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant standards.
• Data Classification: Implement data classification schemes to categorize and protect data based on sensitivity.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance practices to maintain data quality and integrity.
• Data Discovery: Proactively identify and assess data vulnerabilities, ensuring data security controls are in place.
• Incident Response: Lead data security incident response efforts, including investigation and resolution.
• Reporting: Generate comprehensive data security reports for management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Proven experience in data security, privacy compliance, and data governance.
• Strong knowledge of data classification methodologies and data protection best practices.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
• Experience with data discovery tools and incident response procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CDPSE) are advantageous.

Base pay range: $ 95,800 - $150,590, commensurate with experience
