The Senior Data Steward is responsible for establishing and leading the stewardship and governance activities to enforce policies and procedures resulting in sustaining a high level of data integrity across the enterprise ecosystem. Acting as a liaison between the Tech department and the business side of an organization, this role is responsible to oversee the activities that will proactively and on a continuous basis improve and sustain the highest level of integrity for critical data assets. As a Senior Data Steward, you will coordinate the implementation, operation and use of data governance technologies to ensure effective and efficient stewardship of Echo's data assets and promote their accessibility and use, including maintaining an inventory of data assets that describes relevant legislation, lineage, standards, and business terms.
Position Overview:

Acting as a liaison between the Tech department and the business side of an organization, this role is responsible to oversee the activities that will proactively and on a continuous basis improve and sustain the highest level of integrity for critical data assets. As a Senior Data Steward, you will coordinate the implementation, operation and use of data governance technologies to ensure effective and efficient stewardship of Echo's data assets and promote their accessibility and use, including maintaining an inventory of data assets that describes relevant legislation, lineage, standards, and business terms.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Active member of a data team that solves business problems, establishes standards, and enforces them via processes, tools, and properly communicates any data standard changes.
• Assist Data engineers, Product Owners and team leads in proper design of Data Quality components, including data governance and management processes and technology.
• Responsible for the enforcement and management of Data Policies, Data Standards and Standard Operating Procedures for critical data assets.
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the enterprise Data Catalog, including Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, Lineage, Documented Relationships, Classification.
• Assess Legal, Privacy and Compliance Data Risk for critical data assets.
• Produce data risk response strategy, response plan, execute and mitigate risk.
• Develop and deliver communication and training plan for tech and business stakeholders.
• Participate in raising awareness of Data Quality and Governance program.
• Produce profiles for data domains, entities, objects and tables.
• Produce, enforce Data Quality Management standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Design data quality rules that result in data completeness, conformity, consistency, accuracy, uniqueness of data.
• Design Data Quality scorecards, benchmark, and continuous improvement plan.
• Troubleshoot data issues, identify, and lead the resolution activities that will resolve the root cause(s).

Required Skills:

• Proficient in the use of SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Query building for data and metadata retrieval.
• 2-5 years of experience working with Echo and/or equivalent logistics experience highly desirable
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office productivity suite applications (I.E. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Data analysis skills a plus
• Proven track record (2-5 years) working in fast-paced, time sensitive projects that require:
  o Clear and timely communication of key information deemed critical to project success
  o Organizational skills required to balance risk and priorities
  o Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies required
  o Advanced communication and conflict resolution skills
  o Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to effectively work with business leaders at all levels.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Business Systems or other quantitative field, or equivalent years of experience
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (or similar cloud platforms) is a plus
• Experience with cloud-based data governance tools is a plus
