About the Role

You will be a senior member of the team supporting multiple database technologies in Elsevier's Health Markets division. With an emphasis on automation, infrastructure as Code and scripting, you will work across multiple product teams to build upon their CI/CD and deployment processes. Additionally, you will be managing existing data installations by deploying to production systems, optimizing performance, monitoring health, and assisting in architectural design.

Responsibilities

• Work with Technical Architects, providing technical designs and guidance for other members of the Infrastructure team.
• Undertake all Infrastructure support and maintenance activities efficiently to the highest standards.
• Developing new areas of infrastructure, analyzing and fixing assigned faults, and unit testing.
• Establish and oversee the best use of technology and techniques to produce efficient, innovative, high-quality solutions.
• Serve as a mentor to other DBAs.
• Work with other senior members of the Technology infrastructure services function.
• Automating administrative tasks in one of the following scripting languages - Bash, PowerShell or Python.

Requirements

• Experience with automating Database processes.
• Experience in at least 2 of the following database technologies - PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Service and Azure.
• Experience with Database version control with Flyway or Liquibase.
• Experience with Complex connectivity and performance issues that involve database infrastructure.
• Complex database infrastructure installations.
• Perform root cause analysis on database-related issues.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Perform tasks in one of the following scripting languages - Bash, PowerShell or Python.
