The Engineering department is an agile software development organization. In DevOps, we partner closely with our Product Strategy, Architecture and Development teams to design and produce high quality software solutions to meet our customers’ needs. Your Career Opportunity:

As a Sr DevOps Engineer for our cloud-based EHR software brands, you will manage production application environments in AWS and Azure, and act as a key project contributor for DevOps projects including the implementation of new tools and technology. You will be the foremost guardian of performance and availability for our production applications. You will mentor a diverse team of engineers and help them increase their skill level. You will work directly with Engineering leaders and participate in big-picture thought leadership. Strong sensibilities for automation, disaster recovery, SecOps and FinOps will make you a perfect fit for this role.

 

Your Areas of Accountability:

  • Streamline and manage a growing AWS cloud infrastructure, including the evaluation of new technologies to solve extant problems
  • Establish, implement and document best practices with regards to system maintenance, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and general DevOps responsibilities
  • Develop expert-level knowledge of the application environments supporting multiple brands/products
  • Oversee the execution of integration tests through the code deployment pipeline
  • Participate in sprint planning and scrum team meetings
  • Regularly evaluate and look for efficiencies in assistance provided by DevOps for the implementation and maintenance of local development environments
  • Regularly evaluate and drive improvements related to daily maintenance, tuning and break fix for Dev, Stage and Production environments
  • Participate in bi-weekly security meetings to provide feedback on infrastructural security concerns
  • Monitor system infrastructure and configuration for disruption, anomalies or evidence of intrusion
  • Maintain an on-call availability (on a rotation) for response to any incidents or alerts
  • Lead and/or support production promotion and patching events as needed, driving toward consistent delivery of successful feature releases
  • Work closely with developers during the deployment and testing phases to provide insight into operational, security, and performance considerations
  • Keep systems and data secure at all times, complying with the latest security standards
  • Audit, troubleshoot and resolve system availability and integrity issues
  • Constantly evaluate existing systems against accepted and evolving industry standards
  • Advocate and implement industry best practices for configuration management, build and deployment automation, and operational monitoring and analysis
  • Develop and help maintain operational administration, system and data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring policies and tools
  • Proactively evaluate systems; identify, propose and execute changes in support of efficient performance, high availability, and cost control
  • Act as first responder and system owner during triage and analysis of abnormalities in system operation
  • Act as a leader among company DevOps resources across all brands/products
  • Consult on and/or contribute to a variety of projects and tasks as needed

 

Competencies for Success:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps role or equivalent
  • Leadership experience in the field of DevOps (with or without managerial experience)
  • Significant experience with unit tests and integration tests
  • Significant experience working with microservices
  • A deep understanding of Agile methodology and ceremonies as well as SDLC
  • A deep understanding of CI/CD delivery method and pipelines
  • Significant experience working with AWS (highly preferred), Azure or Google Cloud Platform
  • Significant experience working in and troubleshooting highly available production environments
  • Experience with a configuration language (Terraform highly preferred)
  • Experience managing Docker containers and related orchestrations tools such as Kubernetes and Helm
  • Experience with microservice architectures and implementing continuous delivery
  • Creative problem-solving. You are willing to teach, learn, and be a generalist.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing hardening techniques and solutions
  • Experience implementing monitoring solutions (e.g. DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Database management experience a plus, especially with MySQL
  • Must work well under pressure, balancing multiple priorities and objectives

 

At Integrated Practice Solutions, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine our offers of employment. This includes internal and external market factors as well as your individual experience and skills. These considerations can cause compensation to vary but we reasonably expect to pay between $60,750 - $143,000 for this position.
