Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Sr. Sales Executive is the principal representative of Vericast responsible for understanding and representing our direct mail products (Variable Data Postcard/Solo Direct Mail , services, and solutions to clients. Sr. Sales Executive recognize revenue opportunities and turn leads into long-lasting partnerships. In the position you are responsible for promoting sales in creative and effective ways through a sophisticated consultative process with clients. The position requires product knowledge, an understanding of direct mail industry trends, and ability to develop strategic plans with a high level of planning and foresight to maximize sales and revenue from existing clients as well as new clients and prospects.
Key Responsibilities: Â Act as a consultative solutions sales executive that will be responsible for developing direct mail business, to new and existing clients, and work with our existing sales executives with a goal of accelerating direct mail opportunities.
- Responsible to drive continuing company Variable Data Postcard and solo direct mail growth by: (70% of time)7
- Identifying, and engaging new direct mail accounts through cold-calling, networking, referrals, and your ability to source your own leads in order to grow your pipeline.
- Thorough understanding of all direct mail products and solutions and how they can provide value to a client’s operations.
- Building strong partnerships and sales strategies with new clients through developing a deep understanding of their businesses and marketing/advertising initiatives.
- Effectively communicate how best to promote company direct mail products and services to best fit a client or prospective client's needs (Travel may be necessary)
- Serve as a Direct Mail expert to the broader sales organization to advance future direct mail opportunities by:
- Working with sales executives and sales leaders on high value direct mail prospects that exist within the broader sales organization, ensuring tactical and flawless implementation of direct mail products, services, and solutions;
- Researching, tailoring, and teaching commercial insights to sales executives as needed to maximize their existing direct mail pipelines; and
- Serving as a key point of contact to ensure client’s concerns around our direct mail solutions are addressed.
- Provide accurate and timely reports and forecasting as required by Company.
- Creation and updating of sales opportunities in company CRM platform.
Other:
Travel required. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.Â
QualificationsEducation & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of Business, Marketing, or Communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience / Skills and Competencies:
- 7+ years in a quota carrying sales role; demonstrated consistent success over performance.Â
- 3+ years of experience in direct mail media (ie, to 1 solo direct mail, EDDM) is highly preferred.
- Ability to work with customer data / loyalty lists and customer segmentation approaches.
- Use of data and insights as a client facing solution selling tool.Â
- Problem solving, decision making, listening and creative thinking capabilities.
- Ability to navigate internal resources for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to educate and influence stakeholders/audiences resulting in closed/won business.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients while seeking new opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, with aptitude to learn system
Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):
- Communication with clients and internal co-workers – all levels of management, business leadership, customers, suppliers and other internal/external entities as required
Decision Making Scope:
- Ability to make recommendations and bring out-of-box recommendations to clients and areas that support sales (ie: targeting, marketing and pricing)
- Requires broad conceptual judgment and ability to deal with complex factors
Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Position is eligible for bonus/variable compensation
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
