About The Role:
Whalar is seeking an Account Management Senior Director to retain, grow and elevate our partnerships with tech and telecom partners.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for the creator economy and at least 8-10 years client leadership experience. A creative or influencer agency background is ideal, as is a strong connection and appreciation of Gen Z social culture.
What is Account Management?
Account Management is a post-sales role that focuses on nurturing client relationships. Account managers have two primary objectives: retain clients’ business and grow those opportunities.
Unlike a sales role, which is designed to be more short-term and focuses on “hunting” and bringing in new clients, the account manager acts as a long-term liaison and, hopefully, a trusted consultant for the client.
In other words, sales is meant to be more short-term and transactional and account management is about building more engaged relationships.
AM Director Responsibilities:
- Global leadership of Whalar’s technology partnerships/clients
- Retain and unlock growth from across our tech/telecom portfolios
- Establish a planned and pro-active working relationship with clients
- Organize client learning sessions, provide regular updates on the creator economy, next level client engagement including speaking opportunities and events
- Build trusted relationships with existing clients and new stakeholders
- Pro-actively bring innovation and creative strategy to clients
- Provide clear focus and direction to multi-disciplinary Whalar teams working across our largest Tech clients
- Ensure exceptional Customer Success based on both objective and qualitative KPIs
- Partner with measurement team to ensure comprehensive measurement and reporting strategy
- Coordination between all markets and internal global teams - representing the global interests of Whalar, responsible for sharing and updating information across the business
- Owning and coordinating presentation schedules ensuring all parties are updated and that roles and responsibilities are clear
- Staying ahead of the latest product developments, news and innovations by our technology partners; ensure this information is SEEN by the company in a digestible way
- Make clients famous
Requirements
- Grow and maintain exceptional relationships with senior clients
- Pro-actively bring solutions, ideas and education to clients
- Comfortable selling, presenting, leading, public speaking
- Astute commercial skills
- Sound understanding of the creator economy
The base salary range for this role is $150k - $170k + bonus
