About the Job
Dawn Foods is seeking a Sr Director Supply Chain CI/PMO to join the Supply Chain organization. The position will be fully remote but will be required to travel to our Home Office in Jackson, Michigan or to various locations approximately 40% and will report into the Senior Vice President, Distribution Services & Supply Chain. Looking for individuals that are experienced supply chain leaders and strong in Program Management/Continuous Improvement, optimal delivery and warehousing models and advanced Supply Chain Technologies.
What Does It Take to be a Sr Director Supply Chain CI/PMO at Dawn Foods?Â
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job. Â
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, coordination, distribution, warehousing, and/or engineering or other related supply chain field, including experience in a Senior Leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years owning continuous improvement and/or program management initiatives.Â
- Minimum 5 years building and managing teams, developing organizational strategies, and leading projects for supply chain operations and enterprise risk departments.
- Lean Six Sigma experience/certification preferred: relevant experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience with advanced supply chain technologies (ERP systems, warehouse, and transportation management systems) and customer improvement related initiatives is preferred.Â
- Demonstrated success in developing and establishing a CI/PMO framework in an organization, building processes, and policies that influence a cultural shift towards CI.
- Strong ability to influence others without direct authority to seek and gain executive alignment and activate resources to deliver to project commitments.
What You'll Do as a Sr Director Supply Chain CI/PMO
The Sr Director Supply Chain CI/PMO will be responsible for driving both Supply Chain and business resources to deliver the maximum value and benefits from projects and programs within the strategic portfolio. The position is responsible for the engagement and reporting on the state and performance of initiatives within the selected project portfolio. The position also includes ownership for identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating project and program resources engaged with all Supply Chain initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead, develop, and implement operational continuous improvement strategies and initiatives (using lean methodology and tools) as well as advanced technologies to drive cost reduction, eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share. The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:
- Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of senior leadership toward the establishment of the project portfolio definition, structure, and processes; strategic alignment of projects and programs, through evaluation, selection, and prioritization to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.
- Engage with and conduct quarterly (or at other intervals as specified) reviews with senior business leaders, IT, executives, stakeholder committees and steering committees, and other relevant bodies to validate and assess the project portfolio, execute change, and reprioritize to meet business needs as required.
- Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects and programs in the portfolio and resolve or escalate conflicts.
- Program and project management stewardship of continuous improvement initiatives spanning all aspects of people, process, and technology in the end-to-end Supply Chain.Â
- Work with project teams to manage/oversee the full range of the project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, close) for projects covering a portfolio of projects which focus on the business needs of a specific business line(s) or strategy. Deliver projects according to agreed-upon timeline, budget, and scope. Create strategies for risk mitigation and formulate complex project/program plans and schedules.
- Build, lead, and develop a team of continuous improvement experts to identify, define, and implement and improvement opportunities to drive down cost using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement principles.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture with a focus on prioritizing opportunities tied into a lean transformation strategy, process improvement, methodology, tools, and data, and provide leadership for process improvement initiatives.
- Sponsors process deep dives, or Kaizen events, to create gap analyses and areas warranting process improvement.
- Develops and maintains a roadmap for long-term, sustainable cost reduction initiatives, including investments in tools and infrastructure that provide automated reporting and/or supplier collaboration.
- Provides leadership in annual goal setting, cost savings targets, and aligning department staffing to support future business growth.
- Experience managing projects (teams, budgets, schedules) in using bi-modal project management methodologies. Experience with complex IT systems with significant levels of integration and interdependence.
- Ability to operate at both the strategic and functional level to manage project expectations, perceptions, deliverables, and resources.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business and technology personnel, including management and end users, providing guidance, support, and detailed documentation.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the portfolio objectives, inspire, and motivate staff, and maintain alignment to the business strategy.
- Possesses a high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness, and the ability to effectively use the informal power structure of the organization to achieve success and clear obstacles for the portfolio.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and "sell" the portfolio goals and objectives to business as well as technical leadership.
- Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support the Dawn Circle of Excellence throughout the duration of the internship program.Â
