The Sr. Director of Data Science is an experienced data science leader with a track record of delivering data-science-based solutions that fill customer needs.  They take a pragmatic approach to balancing near-term product needs with longer-term research initiatives.  They are a collaborative team member, a good listener, and a good communicator.  They nurture and develop the people who work for them.

You will...

• Bridge the gap between business/product needs with ML design, engineering and execution. You identify the KPIs, resource needs, trade-offs and translate that into an ML roadmap.
• Listen, understand, and translate business needs into actionable data science initiatives and deliverables. Partner with product and engineering to develop near and immediate and long-term project roadmaps
• Collaborate with multiple business stakeholders, product management, and engineering to deliver data-science-related capabilities to customers
• Guide the team to balance their time between longer-term research initiatives and current business-oriented deliverables
• Communicate data science initiatives and deliverables to business stakeholders clearly and effectively
• Manage the data science organization, growing the capabilities of the individuals and of the team, and foster an open and collaborative culture
• Evangelize and explain Bombora’s capabilities to peers at customers and other enterprises
• Supervise and facilitate algorithmic and architectural choices in the data science organization, and in collaboration with other technical groups 
• Lead the evolution of Bombora’s data science infrastructure to enable rapid experimentation coupled with downstream impact evaluation and to automate model (and other artifact) management 

You have…

• MS/Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of leadership experience leading teams solving complex data related problems 
• Experience with cloud data science infrastructure - extra points for GCP, Vertex.ai and MLFlow experience
• Domain experience in businesses related to marketing/sales automation and advertising technology
• Broad machine learning experience, including Natural Language Processing (both classification and NER), anomaly detection, and general single- and multi-class classification
• Can envision solutions from a high level - able to infer the needs behind the stated requirements, elucidate them, and define the plans and deliverables to meet them
• Has executed in a startup environment, and has been through a technical acquisition/merger
• Strong ability to work and communicate cross-functionally: understands how to collaborate with business stakeholders, product management, engineering, and marketing/sales
• Presents and communicates well with internal parties, customers and other external stakeholders

Compensation Package

• The salary range for this position is $200,000. to $235,000. plus a variable compensation target of $25,000. Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
