The Leader, FP&A Shared Services is responsible for driving desired outcomes of the organization's budget and expense management processes. This individual and his/her team will be responsible for expense management for enterprise functions, including direct support for Finance, HR/Marketing, Operations and IT areas. This also includes financial support for major projects within enterprise functions to ensure the value of prioritized investment in technology projects is maximized. This role is responsible for the design and delivery of the enterprise annual and multi-year financial planning process for OA, ensuring it achieves valuable outcomes; helping develop and build our broader FP&A capabilities, including operating principles and OA Ways; and managing a multi-year effort to drive improved earnings through partnership with various finance/actuarial teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of high-quality financial analysts
  • Partner internally to facilitate enterprise expense target setting process for annual and long-range plans.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.
  • Drive unit cost analysis and metrics-based approach to effectively manage expense levels within the Enterprise to ensure expenses are calibrated appropriately with business growth and/or key drivers.
  • Drive partnership and collaboration between Enterprise functions to ensure desired financial outcomes are aligned and achieved.
  • Act as project lead for our long-term earnings initiatives as well as identify and drive actions to enhance GAAP, STAT and non-life earnings
  • Perform industry benchmarking and analysis
  • Drive and facilitate performance management activities to ensure the organization achieves budget management and profitability goals. (variance analysis, unit cost analysis, metrics/benchmarking analysis, etc.)
  • Oversight and governance of financial analysis on major enterprise projects and portfolios. (business case development and analysis, project portfolio reporting and prioritization support, benefit realization oversight, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A./B.S. inAccounting, Finance or Business Management
  • CPA, Actuary or CFA highly desired
  • MBA preferred
  • Financial services experience required; life insurance experience preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years, including 5 years of leadership experience in finance or actuarial roles
  • Ability to deliver & implement strategic programs and projects
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic individual with a strong degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 08B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
