SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
The Senior Director, Global Analyst Relations, as a member of the Comms team, will oversee, develop, and execute a range of programs as well as manage some of the most strategic Pure relationships in the industry analyst community. This person will be responsible for the overall strategy and success of the analyst relations program across the Pure portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications, this position will accelerate and evolve the existing AR program. Creativity and initiative will be key.
From a leadership perspective, you will also be required to develop and maintain a sense of community and cohesiveness amongst staff. It will be your responsibility to reinforce Pure Storage’s core values, standards of business conduct, developing your people and providing candid and honest feedback. Through a process of developing a culture of encouraging and celebrating success and achievement, you will improve both morale and motivation, encouraging pride in Pure.
Pure does not have a typical AR program; we don’t measure ourselves on how many briefings we conduct, and we don’t set targets for briefing cadences. We are a strategic organization within the corporate communications team that is chartered with building deep relationships with the industry analysts and the firms that can impact our business. We measure the depth, breadth and positivity of these relationships to understand the true influence that we are having on the business. The results of these efforts pay off with top positions in analyst evaluation reports and positive coverage across our analyst ecosystem.
You will be expected to know Pure inside and out, and be comfortable interacting across all levels from the CEO to engineering teams to individual contributors. Knowing and understanding the technology will be key to your success. This is a very demanding and rewarding working manager role, where you will be required to be both an individual contributor, managing analyst inbound and outbound interactions, as well as managing a team and setting strategy.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Set strategic direction, proactively make suggestions, conduct planning sessions; and advise on positioning, tactics, and budgetary requirements
- Understand budgetary requirements across multiple firms, and assist in the direction and focus of spend
- Establish goals for the overall performance of the team and show results
- Share analyst research and sentiments broadly across Pure via meeting notes, research summaries and newsletters
- Engage with senior management to share relevant research that can impact the business via summaries and report distribution
- Ability to be a product expert and capable of editing papers according to Pure Storage messaging, provide direction on custom projects
- Collaboration with BUs on strategic custom projects
- Managing product evaluations such as the Gartner Magic Quadrant submissions, and setting a strategy with the business units to improve positioning each year
- Demonstrate excellent judgment for Pure Storage’s best interest, strong situational analysis, and have the ability to negotiate
- Articulate Pure Storage messages with external audiences to secure support both verbally and in writing
- Be a great manager – lead/own international and/or cross functional projects, recruit and successfully manage headcount
- Develop strategic relationships with our growing community of analystsÂ
- Provide product management with strategic consultation on products and servicesÂ
- Partner assistance with the sales enablement organization, assist in driving deals with analyst support
- Collaborate with product and corporate marketing to deliver content and programs to drive lead generationÂ
- Broaden visibility of the Pure Storage, its strategy and core products
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

- Excellent understanding of the technology industry, the storage ecosystem and with established relationships with industry analysts

- Ability to synthesize, interpret and summarize third-party analysis and research for cross-functional audiences, including senior executives
- Ability to work in a small team environment, but also work effectively with all cross-organizational functionsÂ
- The ability to explain technology to technical and non-technical audiences
- Must have the ability to juggle multiple high-detail, deadline-sensitive projects, prioritize and meet deadlinesÂ
- High energy, enthusiastic team-playerÂ
QualificationsÂ
- BA/BS in Communications, Technology or Business preferred
- 10-15+ years of experience in Analyst Relations in the technology industry
- Previous experience in Product Marketing preferred
The annual base salary range is: $207,000 - $331,000. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
