JOB SUMMARY
As an Senior HR Director, you will be based in Chicagoland and oversee the day-to-day support from the Human Resources department to all retail Sunnyside dispensaries in AZ & IL (11 locations currently) with potential to take on additional markets in the future. You will work from home and have limited travel while consulting business leaders in the areas of performance management, talent assessment, recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, and legal compliance. You report to the SVP, Human Resources and are a key player who is enthusiastic and realistic about opportunities to advance talent initiatives in support of strengthening our position as an employer of choice.Â
CORE JOB DUTIESÂ
- Lead and develop your direct report(s) to be consultative partners to your assigned business groups with a focus on developing and empowering all leaders to effectively execute talent-related activities
- Consistently assess, prioritize and distribute workload – play to strengths while also ensuring the development of the entire team
- Maintain and strengthen strong external, internal and cross-functional relationships to support overall company initiatives
- Drive effective performance management, compensation, and development activites within assigned business groups; motivate/ inspire management to set and hold employees accountable to high standards of performance
- Strengthen Cresco’s culture by ensuring HR practices are aligned with company objectives, are communicated effectively, and foster a positive working environment
- Primary HR contact for assigned business groups and union representatives when engaged in collective bargaining, interpretation and execution of activities in compliance with a collective bargaining agreement and responses to grievances
- Serve as a “change leader” when planning and implementing effective change management strategies, communications, and training in support of major organization change/transformation initiatives
- Complete special projects and objectives; analyze data, conduct research, develop and organize information, and deliver recommendations and results
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLSÂ Â
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with exposure to the following aspects of the HR function:
- Leadership consultation and development; strengthening the skills and capabilities of our leaders through honest, transparent conversations resulting in professional growth and positive working environments
- Learning & Development; how to effectively transfer knowledge to build skills and capabilities associated with processes or philosophies of the Company
- Employee Relations; conducting investigations & documenting recommendations
- Labor Relations; National Labor Relations Act, Collective Bargaining negotiations, grievance responses and relationship maintenance
- Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Talent Pipeline; assessment, succession planning & development activities
- Performance Management; coaching, progressive discipline & documentation
- Project Management; strong planning & presentation skills
- Data Analytics; advanced skills in MS Excel process data to identify trends
- 7+ years as a SR. HR Business Partner or HR Director leading multiple HR Business Partners and/or HR Generalists to support business locations across various states
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Candidates preferred with experience in multi-site retail organization including interactions and support to all levels of employees (entry level to senior leaders)
- Strong leadership, change management & organizational development skills
- Ability to build rapport and trusting relationships with all levels and teams within the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Enjoys working in an agile, fast-paced, team environment where ambiguity is seen as the opportunity to create clarity
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Dispensing Organization Agent license through the state of IL
- Must be able to periodically travel to dispensaries within the assigned business area and travel for business meetings as needed
