Role Description:
The Director, Management & Leadership Development is a highly visible role within the organization and responsible for a broad set of activities impacting the development of leaders at Oak Street Health. This role is accountable for creating the strategy, vision, framework, and roadmap for leadership development across the enterprise. The Director, Management & Leadership Development will partner with business leaders, Learning, and HR partners to deliver best-in-class, comprehensive leadership and management development education, experiences and exposure for our leaders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop the overall strategy, vision, framework, roadmap, and success metrics for management and leadership development at Oak Street Health.
- Consult with business leaders to understand their leadership and management development needs for input and ensure the appropriate sponsorship, engagement and alignment.
- Craft and manage an understanding of management and leadership development needs across segments of the organization.
- Architect, lead, and execute integrated management and leadership development solutions to drive professional growth and accountability across the organization-including formal learning (and the facilitation thereof), coaching, and other interventions.
- Collaborate closely with Learning Design, Learning Delivery, and other required functions to ensure effective development and delivery of development programs.
- Monitor and manage participant experience and achievement, and translate insights into actions for continuous improvement.
- Be a trusted advisor / consultant to the business by building the necessary relationships to prepare and influence the education, experiences and exposures available.
- Ensure development efforts related to new and maintenance activities are staged according to business priorities.
- Use creative problem solving and superior stakeholder management skills in managing projects and removing obstacles.
- Other duties as assigned.
This role reports to the SVP, Learning and has the opportunity for advancement and growth of responsibility.
What are we looking for?
- University degree required, advanced degree preferred
- At least 7 years of experience within a Human Resources or Learning function
- Extensive experience as a facilitator and coach in leadership development for individuals and/or teams
- Deep exposure to manager and leader development theory and frameworks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team leadership skills
- Already possess or can rapidly acquire a strong knowledge of capability development approaches and best practices
- Demonstrated record of high-level problem solving and project management
- Proven ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization, including senior level management, and outside vendors
- Must be highly motivated and organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints
- Strong sense of entrepreneurship and owner's mindset
- Must be open-minded and be able to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment
- US work authorization
