Sr. Director of Engineering - Marketplace Foundation

As a key senior member of Nomad's engineering leadership team, you will build an enterprise-grade team with a focused startup drive that will build the platform to realize Nomad’s vision of being the favorite destination for clinicians to discover rewarding work opportunities!

• Build, organize, develop, and evolve Nomad Health’s Marketplace Foundations engineering division, an organization focused on building the platform capabilities that power the entirety of Nomad’s clinician, client, and internal products.
• Partner with Product leadership and business stakeholders across the organization to cultivate a strategy, set roadmaps, and execute confidently to build Nomad’s foundation platform. This platform includes key marketplace capabilities for Nomad such as search and recommendations technology, messaging systems, data ingestion and document management, authentication and authorization services, third-party integrations, data pipelines, distributed systems, microservices, and serverless functionality.
• Collaborate with your team and other members of the Engineering leadership team to define, refine, implement, and model strong technical standards and a collaborative engineering culture. You’ll help us define code standards, architecture principles, technical operation standards, team organization, roles, responsibilities, and more.
• Manage leaders of a complex product and platform engineering organization, including managers of managers, in a distributed environment, across manifold technologies and business lines, including strategic technology acquisitions.
• Partner with cross-functional leads and technology executives (VP, CTO) on long-term planning for hiring, technology, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Attract, recruit, develop, and retain top technical talent to help Nomad reach enterprise-grade sophistication for its technology team. You will hire impactful managers, excellent staff-plus engineers, and industry specialists, as well as high-growth-potential individual contributors, to power your team for long-term success.

• You have 5+ years experience managing engineering managers in broad and highly technical organizations.
• You are experienced in taking engineering teams from early- or growth-stage startups to the enterprise level.
• You have experience leading engineering organizations of 50+ individual contributors in a distributed, remote-first, multinational environment.
• You have 10+ years experience developing platform capabilities, infrastructure, and/or full-stack features for high-scale web applications.
• You possess a proven track record of collaboration with product and business stakeholders to deliver aggressive and impactful technical initiatives.
