Sr. Director of Operations

Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid‐state rechargeable batteries.  Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for oversight, including executing business objective within budget of Operation Departments - Facilities, Advanced Supply Chain/Strategic Supplier Development, and Procurement.
• Define standards, policies, and procedures to meet company goals.
• Establish goals, objectives, and strategies for Operations Departments through benchmarking, operational analysis, and best practices.
• Develop, enhance, and execute operational plans for multiple locations.
• Work closely with R&D and Engineering teams to understand operational needs in testing, development, and production of products.
• Develop high standards for execution to meet all KPIs and financial metrics while supporting Facilities, Procurement, and Supply Chain needs.
• Identify performance opportunities and develop plans for improvement.
• Develop scalable operational plans for current and future facilities and production teams.
• Responsible for development and implementation of efficient procedures and use of resources, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Support department by ensuring that they have the necessary tools to complete daily tasks and goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of operations experience, preferably in a production, chemical or manufacturing environment.
• A demonstrated track record of leading a team of diverse skill sets and obtaining alignment.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives; strong project management skills to meet deadlines and gain adoption.
• Effective decision making and interpersonal skills; direct experience managing independent workstreams.
• In-depth experience in manufacturing operations associated with chemical processing.
• Understanding of Engineering process knowledge required.
• Frequent cross-functional interaction with multiple departments will be required while supporting multiple projects.
• Experience in the handling and transport of hazardous materials necessary with export control experience preferred.
• Knowledge of APQP is preferred.
• A collaborative and innovative mindset.
• Experienced in contract negotiation and relationship building.
• Experience with LEAN Manufacturing Technique preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
• Ability to wear respirator.

Salary Range: $128,000 - $198,000/year
