Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Product Management, Benchtop NGS Systems will lead a team responsible marketing for Illumina's benchtop sequencing systems and consumables portfolio, including the recently launched NextSeq 2000. This leader will drive both near and long-term product strategy, will partner with Research and Product Development teams to establish long-term product roadmaps, and will develop impactful go-to-market plans that allow Illumina to maximize its growth trajectory.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development, planning and execution of multi-year product strategy based on deep customer insights and market dynamics
- Partner with Product Development to establish and execute on a long-term product roadmap based on customer needs and market understanding
- Influence across functions to drive the NGS Systems business. Oversee market modeling, forecasting, S&OP process, pricing, and promotions
- Responsible for developing and executing on strategy to drive product growth and meet key revenue targets. Expected to track and monitor the business and report on key metrics
- Build compelling go-to-market plans, product positioning and sales enablement tools in close partnership with Global and Regional Product Marketing
- Serve as product expert and champion with the ability to engage key customers and partners on product parameters and capabilities
- Understand key business drivers, based on data and analytics, market trends and direct interaction with Commercial teams and customers. Shares insight across Marketing, Investor Relations, Product Development and Executive Leadership
- Responsible for forecasting and financial analysis related to high throughput platforms and consumables
- Partner with Commercial Organization and Regional Marketing to support them in interactions with existing and new customers
- Build close relationships with key customers, thought leaders, partners, and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends
- Responsible for development of a high performing Product Management Team, with ability to attract top talent and mentor, coach and develop existing employees

Preferred Requirements:
- Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Ph.D. or MBA, preferred, but not required
- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Must have demonstrated track record in product management with experience in driving product requirements for multiple innovative products
- Must have demonstrated track record of delivering effective and strategic marketing plans for products
- Must have demonstrated track record of successfully building and leading teams
- Must have strong analytical skills and ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy
- Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings
- Must have experience rapidly building and developing teams that consistently overachieved
- Experience with NGS markets with broad knowledge of genomics technologies and markets

The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Director, Product Management, Benchtop NGS Systems role based in the United States of America is: $216,200 - $324,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
