The Sr. Director, Technology Leader will lead strategic direction of ABIOMED, Inc. Information Technology department while providing support for the needs of the day-to-day operations across the business.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as a visionary technology leader in driving digital outcomes for technology products and services that support the Abiomed strategic plan and business outcomes.
• Lead and provide oversight for department budgets, project portfolios, while driving strategic and operational planning as well as digital solution execution.
• Effectively manage Abiomed technology team of professionals with commitment to employee development, diversity, and execution.
• Act as lead technology partner to effectively support roadmap of integration activities into Johnson & Johnson technology platforms and infrastructure.
• Enforce and impose compliance to all Johnson & Johnson standards for quality, cyber security, and engineering design across business units and JJT in support of end-to-end circulatory support and oxygenation solutions.
• Define, track and report on departmental performance metrics.
• Ensure proper and best practices for all platform engineering and software development.
• Define policies and procedures for the organization along with any supporting tools, documentation and training materials needed to support the expected service levels of the organization.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years experience with strong project & management skills
• Ability to work with vendors and third parties to negotiate contracts and project work
• Preferably worked for a public and/or FDA regulated company
• Developed database and analytics applications for internal use
• Supported and enhanced an enterprise level ERP system
• Experience developing and managing a help desk function
• Outstanding trouble-shooting/diagnostic skills
• Ability to both prioritize and multi-task effectively
• Independent thinker, excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated and proven ability to lead and motivate employees
• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to senior management
• Strategic planner who can lead the company's IT infrastructure into the future

Working knowledge of:

• Application development; solutions based Microsoft .Net, visual Studio .NET - ASP .NET, VB.NET or C#, Ruby, Python, and PERL
• Digital portals and forward facing web applications
• DEVOPS: providing platform as a service and full lifecycle management
• Cloud: platform/compute, automation (Puppet/Chef/Kubernetes), and SaaS based applications
• Data analytics and business intelligence
• Collaboration Technologies
