Job Description
Job Summary
This Senior Editor will be responsible for assigning and editing content of all lengths and formats, from short news items to long-form features. They will oversee the Experiences section of T+L, which typically runs over 12-15 pages in the middle of the book, where we publish first-person travel stories ranging from one to five pages. They will be expected to spearhead major projects such as Destination of the Year, It List, and Global Vision Awards. The successful candidate will have strong editing and assigning experience, preferably in travel publishing. They should also be a self-starter, a creative thinker, and highly organized. This position is based in New York.
Essential Job Functions
50% - Editing travel content for the print issue of T+L (approximately 80 pages per year)
25% - Liaising with freelance writers, agents and publicists on pitches and industry news
15% - Pitching and writing digital content for T+L.com
10% - Planning and setting up writer travel

Education:
College degree in journalism or related field or relevant experience
Experience:
3-5 years' experience editing and writing copy for lifestyle or travel publication. Knowledge of the travel industry is preferred.

Pay Range
Salary: $59,010.00 - $84,300.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
