Summary
The Sr. Manager- Global EHS&S Assurance is the lead role for Baxter's EHS&S Assurance Strategy, responsible for the planning, design, implementation and oversight of company-wide compliance assurance programs, providing comprehensive risk analysis and risk management actions, and leading continuous improvement initiatives for related programs or processes; including EHS&S: data management, assessments/audit cycles, corrective actions effectiveness reviews, incident management, regulatory compliance, company policies and standards, and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
The Sr. Manager builds collaborative partnerships and involves internal and external stakeholders, influences key business decisions, functional and operational strategies to ensure that the company has a well-designed and assured approach to EHS&S management to mitigate, prevent and/or control risks arising from operations or the business.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with internal stakeholders and actively support the development and execution of EHS&S standards, programs and processes to drive functional vision, mission, policies and strategies.
- Champion EHS&S Assurance Strategy and execution, including external certifications, internal management systems audits/reviews and internal/external regulatory compliance self- assessments and audits.
- Relationship owner with 3rd party ISO Certification Body
- Drive internal/external auditor training & certification plan/program; establish/execute competency roadmap.
- Partner with Corporate, Regional and Site staff to implement and monitor EHS&S Management Systems governance and compliance assurance activities; including program effectiveness reviews, audits and continuous monitoring processes.
- Liaise with internal Global Audit function, legal counsel and external vendors, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of audit/assurance programs.
- Proactively identify systemic EHS&S management gaps, develop corrective measures and implement solutions; leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EHS&S programs.
- Collect/measure and utilize enterprise EHS&S data to support risk-based project/program design, planning and execution; evaluate trends for continuous improvement or corrective measures.
- Follow, evaluate and implement approaches to address existing or emerging/new environmental & safety regulations, regulatory policy and industry practice; determine operational and business impacts and develop/ execute strategies to manage applicable/ relevant requirements.
- Recommend & support new approaches to improve existing EHS&S content, processes, methods and techniques, including technical guidance and digitization opportunities; establishes success criteria, execute and monitor.
- Actively oversee and coach sites throughout the audit life cycle and follow-up.
- SME/ Project Manager for Digital Tools supporting Corp & Site Level compliance, inspections/assessments and/or audit processes.
- Communicate the business impacts of EHS&S to leadership and stakeholders; use influence to advance EHS&S strategy.

- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple & technically complex assignments concurrently.

- Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
- Experience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organization goals.
- Proven ability to deliver results through the management of others.
- Proven track record of interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface and lead effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret scientific, and statistical data.
- Ability to collect and analyze data and information to determine paths for process improvement and potential root cause
- Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and senior leaders.
- Possess a working knowledge of related disciplines/other functions including manufacturing and operations processes
- Continuous improvement focus and track record.
- Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50%
What you'll bring
- B.S. Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering or related field required; M.S. Degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering or Technology preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience which should include strong experience managing direct/indirect teams.
- 5+ years' experience managing global EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures. Possess a detailed understanding of global and EHS legal requirements, EHS engineering, best practices and EHS management systems
- Advanced membership, registration and/or certification for OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO9001 or similar accredited EHS management systems
- Continuous improvement/ lean methodologies implementation experience
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career.At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.To that end, this position has a salary range of $112,00 to $216,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus and equity target. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
