Sr. Electrical & Controls Engineer

Position Summary

The Sr. Electrical & Controls Engineer is the owner of the design of all electrical systems inclusive of high-voltage power systems, electrical and signal wiring, instrumentation selection, and the owner of the controls narrative. This role will interface closely with pilot and product Field Engineers and Operators for site troubleshooting, controls optimization, and future product design and development.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design of all electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems.
• Works together with the engineering team to build out P&IDs, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, etc. for pilot, product and plant-wide installations.
• Develops controls architectures: owns the drafting of the Controls Narrative, Cause & Effect charts, software descriptions, HMI screens, etc.
• Works with sourcing team to identify long-lead-time items, and perform costing analysis of first-of-a-kind and nth-of-a-kind power and controls systems.
• Troubleshoots control systems during testing and normal operation
• Manages relationships with external firms to execute on architecture and programming as per the Controls Narrative document 
• Maintains relationships with our key engineering partners, leads design reviews, escalations to resolve design challenges that require Antora team-level decisions

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering and/or 5+ years’ experience in industrial applications engineering
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills, ability to think about problems from a first-principles perspective
• Experience with Information Technology to Operations Technology network interfacing; designing and configuring operations networks.
• Experience working independently, as well as work in a team-orientated and fast-paced startup-like environments
• Working knowledge and experience with Siemens TIA, Rockwell Automation Control Logix, Ignition Perspective and Edge, and/or other similar industrial control system hardware/software
• Past experience with PLC/HMI programming; experience with SCADA systems

Additional Qualifications Desired

• Design, construction, and operational experience with heavy & large equipment and/or industrial settings
• Field engineering experience at large industrial facilities
• Experience leading with context and building consensus around complex set of stakeholders
• Experience working with EPCs on large capital projects at the FEL1 or FEED engineering stages
• Work with first-of-a-kind (FOAK) industrial facilities and scaling electrical and/or controls systems from FOAK to product

Salary Range:  $144,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Salary Basis:  Annual
