As a Sr. Engineer, you will be responsible for applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements in Fort Worth, Texas.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Design components, or portions of a functional system, or prototype, or specific products for medical device/science/technology.
  • Supporting and participating in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototypes, may also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment.
  • Applies intermediate level principles of engineering analysis, blend technical knowledge and manufacturing practices in providing solutions to problems arising within the department pertaining to the assigned projects.
  • Uses previous experience to identify the most appropriate option to adapt or improve existing approaches.
  • Interprets information to make decisions impacting own scope of work.
  • Assures continuity of products and processes assessment feasibility, research, design, development, compliance to customer and non-customer requirements, transfer to production.
  • May lead design reviews and review action items.
  • Ensures regulatory / statutory / legislative compliance for all project work.
  • Operates within clear guidelines with regard to how to handle decisions outside direct experience. Issues arising outside guidelines or operating procedures are normally escalated for resolution.
  • Ability to understand chemical compounds, understanding of substrate bonding or coating, mixing, handling, manufacturing and testing for Class III implantable lenses and associated surgical tools for delivery.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Proven Experience
