THE ROLE:
Athletic Greens (AG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Engineering Lead specializing in web and mobile platforms to join our team. As a Senior Engineering Lead, you will report to the Director of Engineering and provide technical leadership to our front-end engineering team on the development and sustainability of our architecture, ensuring high-quality, responsive, and scalable solutions. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the product vision and strategy in alignment with business goals. AG is a fast-paced and innovative company, and we're looking for a Senior Engineering Lead who can bring strong technical leadership and contribute to the growth and success of our engineering initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance and advocating for engineering best practices
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture, promoting innovation, code quality, and continuous improvement
- Oversee the end-to-end software development process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality code and features that meet business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to define project goals, priorities, deliverables, and quality assurance
- Support and maintain project plans and delivery timelines to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
- Identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks, proactively addressing issues that may impact project delivery or team performance
- Drive technical excellence and best practices across the engineering teams, advocating for code quality, scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development methodologies, and apply this knowledge to improve processes and drive innovation within the organization
- Establish and maintain documentation of engineering processes, guidelines, and decisions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting technical solutions and providing progress updates
- Monitor and optimize front-end and mobile application performance for an enhanced user experience
- Set performance metrics and KPIs for the frontend engineering team to track progress and align with business objectives
- Implement security measures to protect user data and comply with security standards
- Engage in client-facing activities, such as presentations and demos, to showcase technical capabilities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in front-end software development, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in leading a frontend team using React/Next.js and Typescript
- Experience building and deploying a mobile app using Flutter or React Native preferred
- Experience with headless CMS solutions (Sanity, Prismic, etc)
- Familiarity with e-commerce like Shopify and subscription platforms is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, agile practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Vue/Nuxt.js is a plus
- Familiarity with Vercel is a plus
- Experience with GTM (Google Tag Manager), A/B testing tools, marketing pixels, and 3rd party tracking is a plus

AG is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $165,000 - $195,000 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate's level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
