Sr. Engineering Manager - MarTech & AdTech

ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswear's Digital Technology (CDT) group enables an IT infrastructure and applications across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
The purpose of this position is to develop strategy and drive technology efforts for Columbia's Marketing and Membership capabilities along with other consumer-facing digital initiatives. This is a senior management role that serves as a delivery partner across the Commerce and Consumer Engagement landscape delivering value in partnership with our digital product management team.
This role's main responsibility is to lead an engineering team in the delivery of digital technology solutions. They collaborate on short and long-term digital product vision and strategy, architecture, and implementations that align with enterprise and industry standards. They seek a balance between technical excellence and timely delivery while continually seeking to improve engineering practices.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Provide technical solutions for products that are focused on processes, systems, applications, and technologies in areas spanning the Commerce and Engagement landscape.
- Guide high-functioning teams of engineers that deliver scalable cloud platforms, applications, and APIs.
- Participate in vendor product evaluations to enhance the Commerce technology landscape
- Communicate complex architecture patterns to technical and functional partners at all levels of the organization.
- Educate and mentor delivery teams in state-of-the-art technical patterns and techniques
- Invest in the growth of individual team members
- Participate in the development of best practices that enhance system security, scalability, observability, performance, usability, and resilience.
- Champion innovation and share insights with the technical and non-technical organization leaders.
- Design solutions to be adaptable, comprehensive, configurable and scalable to minimize technical debt and total cost of ownership.
- Provide strategic thinking, leadership and solution development across technologies & programs, including: Analytics, personalization, Consumer data, data management platforms, advertising technology, testing and optimization, and ecommerce.
- Define goals for technology components and frameworks including reference architectures and implementations for Martech and Adtech solutions, including, but not limited to data management platforms and Consumer Journey platforms;

YOU HAVE
- Leadership experience with cloud based solutions, services, and integrations.
- Experience leading technology teams that have scaled consumer mobile apps.
- Experience leading teams that have built and scaled marketing journey orchestration and personalization platforms.
- Experience to Marketing processes and solutions.
- 10+ years of experience engineering high-volume, highly available applications in AWS and/or Azure cloud environment.
- Highly skilled at creating compelling solution presentations covering vendor packaged applications, cloud-based applications or services and other applications. Comfortable in managing integration with complex systems environments.
- Experienced working in an Agile environment (Scrum preferred) including breaking down architecture vision into components that deliver value incrementally.
- Strong analytic skills, including ability to rapidly gather data, structure hypotheses, and develop synthesized findings/recommendations
- Experienced implementing headless architectures, progressive web apps as well as API Orchestration with an overarching focus on performance optimization.
- Deep knowledge of Commerce business processes and technology.
