As a Gas South Financial Analyst, you would play a critical role in business decisions, get to work closely with company leadership, and make a direct impact.  You value relationships based on honesty and trust. The Financial Analyst is responsible for projecting financial performance, budgeting, internal and external financial reporting, and long-term financial planning.  The ongoing challenge is to develop insights from data to learn and clearly communicate your findings to add value to the business.

Other stuff we like:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance degree is required
• Four plus years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role, public accounting audit role or other relevant consulting experience
• Highly skilled in Excel, including pivot tables, macros and complex formulas
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial statements
• Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct), financial planning tools (Vena)
• Adept with data visualization software (Power BI)
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets, using SQL, Python, R, or SAS
• Strong ability presenting and delivering content clearly and concisely

More details on what you would be responsible for:

• Analyze historical financial and operational data to develop annual budgets and regular forecasts
• Support the month-end accounting close process and analytics
• Review actual financial results against forecasted data and determine causes of variances
• Build and validate models from large datasets
• Make strategic recommendations for solutions to business problems
• Improve operational and analytical efficiency
• Provide clear interpretation and presentation of financial data and analysis to stakeholders
• Prepare required financial reporting packages and assist with year-end audit functions
