Opportunity for a Sr. Financial Analyst with a minimum of 5+ years to support management planning and decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating information. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of pricing structures, utilizing strategic pricing applications to maximize reimbursements, analyzing and researching reimbursement issues, cost accounting, custom report design, internal audit, and general support of the Financial Planning & Analysis Director. This position also provides service and support to administrative council, department managers, the finance committee, and other users of financial information.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $82,097 to $123,156, with a median salary of $102,627/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees.   • Developing and advising management of necessary internal controls and procedures that ensure accurate and reconcilable data flowing from diverse financial systems.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Using critical thinking to resolved problems, address variances, and determine current and future risks based on the Dynamic Planning cycle.
  • Maintain positive and trusting relationships with business partners and finance colleagues to effectively maximized performance; utilizing communications skills, facilitation skills, knowledge of team dynamics, and a commitment to continuous improvement to achieve results.
  • Using various software applications obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and validate the reasonableness of the data. Perform complex financial, statistical, productivity and cost analytics. Interpret the data to discover underlying causes, patterns, relationships and trends to identify areas of improvement and alternative solutions to aid in decision making and process improvement activities. Collaborates with business partners throughout the process to ensure accurate conclusions are drawn from the information.
  • Prepare pro forma analytics for proposed projects, programs, services or capital commitments. Manages the process and compares actual performance to projected results.
  • Collaborate with business partners and provide financial support and problem solving for operating requirements. Actively plan and manage project progress and communicate status and potential hurdles. Monitor operation outcomes relative to expectations and communicate opportunities to enhance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business partners to proactively monitor revenue cycle, resource utilization, supplies, inventory and other expense trends and issues.
  • Provides education, training and coaching to business partners on the effective use of financial systems and tools, as well as how to read and interpret financial information and reports.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, such as: system testing and support related to implementation, conversion, or development, etc.
  • Analyzes health care costs and utilization trends to maximize ROI.

Qualifications

Sr. Financial Analyst Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in analyzing financials and business operations; 2 years specific to healthcare
  • Understanding of healthcare billing, charge development, and reimbursement processes, as well as healthcare financial management and reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (g. Power Query, macros, basic programming, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data tables, sumif, countif, Vlookup, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Human relations skills, and the ability to work with all levels of management, including explaining and obtaining cooperation for implementation of necessary internal controls
  • Willingness to learn new and different subjects, to independently initiate, research, analyze, and resolve accounting, applicable tax, and cash management issues, are key attributes to successfully completing this job
  • Evolved Emotional Intelligence
  • Ability to function under pressure, conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Analytic problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • CPA/CMA/MBA
  • Proficient understanding of healthcare financial analysis
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, management, and business principles and practices
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, Management Reporter, Affinity, or other financial software
