C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for our North American Surface Transportation (NAST) division. In this role, you'll lead the charge in transforming how we approach cost analysis and strategic decision-making. Beyond traditional Financial Planning and Analysis responsibilities such as monthly financial statements and return on investment modeling, you'll pioneer a revolutionary tool aimed at transforming our understanding of costs. Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the creation of a robust cost-to-serve/customer profitability system for NAST business lines, enabling detailed insight into customer, lane, and service-level profitability
  • Collaborate with Technology and Business Operations to develop and evolve the profitability system, adapting to changing business conditions and incorporating enhancements over time
  • Generate actionable reporting from the new profitability system to guide client decision-making effectively
  • Contribute to forecasting, actuals review, and budgeting processes
  • Create and manage reporting for client groups and FP&A leadership, acting as a key liaison in result analysis
  • Craft clear, compelling communication tools to simplify complex analyses for partners, guiding informed decision-making
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement, driving process enhancements within financial planning and analysis activities
  • Lead ad hoc FP&A projects and collaborate with corporate finance to enhance reporting and analytical tools
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related major
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or other Finance-related roles
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and grow in a new environment with new systems and new partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data analytics, financial analysis, and accounting skills
  • Experience with finance technology - i.e. Oracle, Essbase, TM1
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and processes
  • Experience leading and mentoring peers
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and consult with multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate in a matrixed organization with multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop more junior staff members
  • Team oriented and thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Deadline and time management oriented and able to manage multiple competing priorities
