The Funding Team at Mulligan Funding works hand-in-hand with borrowers, internal sales reps, and the credit analysts to streamline the funding process for our clients while ensuring strong quality control. After approval by a credit analyst and accepted by a client, the Funding Team takes ownership of the file to ensure that all closing stipulations and documents are received and meet the company’s risk profile. The goal is to provide the quickest and most efficient closing process for our customers, while also maintaining high quality standards. The ability to multitask, effectively communicate with multiple departments and parties, and be extremely detail oriented is pivotal to this position.

You will:

  • Coordinate with the Sales team to obtain all necessary documents for loan funding and review them, seeking credit analyst approval when required.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Mulligan's underwriting and risk standards and apply them in a timely manner for necessary loan funding approvals.
  • Conduct ad hoc research on clients and various documents such as bank statements, tax returns, and loan documents to protect against fraud.
  • Issue and verify all loan contracts, ensuring accuracy in critical financial and personal details of clients.
  • Complete an onboarding call with new clients and verify the identities of business owners.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to oversee the loan throughout the funding process.
  • Handle the filing and termination of UCC's (uniform commercial code).
  • Assist in customer service inquiries and take on ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Set the standard in attention to detail.
  • Lead new hire and interdepartmental training sessions.
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the manager in the development and execution of fraud prevention measures.
  • Assist in updating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure departmental efficiency.
  • Be proficient with bank verification tools and identity verification tools, including but not limited to Giact, LexisNexis, Tincheck, & Tax Guard.
  • Possess a sharp eye for detecting fraudulent applicants and voice concerns when fraud is suspected.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (3.0+ GPA preferred) or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years in the lending industry, with a strong preference for experience in loan closing or related fields.
  • Well-developed organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, ensuring clear and effective interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in training less seasoned team members.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products, G-Suite, and a knack for quickly mastering new programs and CRM systems.
  • Critical thinking and risk management capabilities combined with outstanding customer service skills to deliver a world-class experience.
  • The capacity to make complex decisions under pressure in a rapid environment, paired with a love for multi-tasking.
  • A consistent level of professionalism accompanied by top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An inherent ability to adapt to ever-changing situations.
  • A proactive approach, willing to undertake new operational tasks aimed at fostering business growth.
