What you’ll do:

As Sr. Government Relations Associate, under the supervision of the Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations, you will track and analyze evolving policies in specified markets, including legislative tracking of bills that may impact or present an opportunity for HopSkipDrive.  You will play a leading role in setting legislative agendas, working with lobbyists and policymakers, and drafting bill language.  You will identify legislative and regulatory opportunities in specified existing and expansion markets, and help inform policy strategy.  You will identify opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders, policy makers and leaders with similar missions, and will develop those connections.

What you bring:

• • At least 4-5 years in government relations, regulatory affairs, or legal field
  • Relevant advanced degree (JD, MPP) preferred
  • Experience in public utilities or education strongly preferred
  • Experience with the legislative process and working with lobbyists
  • Proven ability to research and analyze statute and regulations with diligence and an attention to detail
  • Proven ability to understand and translate the impacts of a policy on the Company
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to serve as public face of HopSkipDrive to policymakers and governmental contacts in each market
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and identify policy-related opportunities that will further HopSkipDrive’s mission 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to develop strategic policy plans and advance a number of policy initiatives simultaneously 
  • Ability to keep finger on the pulse of policy conversations in specified markets and identify opportunities for the company
  • Travel required as part of this role-estimated 25% can change based on business needs

HopSkipDrive is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in is $90,000 to $100,000. This position is remote and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
