Working as part of a cross-functional team, you are recognized internally as a technical expert in an area of importance to the R&D function. You identify, define and solve complex business problems by applying your broad and in-depth technical knowledge. As an expert in your technical specialty, this leadership role requires you to interact with senior management and cross-functional teams to meet current and future strategic demands of the business.
How you will contribute
You will plan, lead and manage complex technically focused projects while using your technical expertise to guide, direct and influence activities lead by others. To ensure the right solutions are developed, you will use consumer knowledge and your technical expertise to identify future opportunities and to execute programs with technical rigor. This role will require you to work with cross-functional partners develop and align resource and budget needs for projects. You will be responsible for the technical outcomes of developments related to evaluating new ingredients, formulas, recipes and processes and understanding the impact on scale up between laboratory and production facilities. You will also be responsible for quantifying the technical risks to make recommendations and influence stakeholders. As a people leader, you will mentor and coach others to grow their technical talent.

More about this role
Lead technical team to develop, transform and strategically integrate NA productivity programs into the region to unlock bottom line growth for the region. This role will partner up with our procurement team to set internal and external strategies with our vendors and utilize data analysis to narrate strategic options for the regional productivity. The role will require managing 3 direct reports to deliver the agenda.
What you need to know about this position:
  • Strategically integrate NA Raw and Packaging Productivity workstreams and other NA initiatives to prioritize/optimize RDQ resources and deliver commercially feasible programs.
  • Lead team of approximately ~3 scientists responsible to identify, scope and developing productivity projects.
  • Advance the simplification and harmonization of raw and packaging materials by consolidating programs with Spend Area teams, region, and categories team members.
  • Utilize data to influence and communicate effectively with business partners to ensure status updates deployment and adaption of regional and global platform pipeline ideas.
  • Create and drive NA Productivity 4-2-1 that delivers sufficiency and robustness per regional targets. Support End to End Margin Improvement- Key KPI NA R&P Productivity in year delivery and pipeline development.

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
Food industry experience in R&D or related supply chain function - 10 years minimum
Job specific requirements:
  • Experience with consumer / product testing protocols and solid financial knowledge - 10 years minimum
  • Solid experience with commercialization, project timelines, savings estimates, and the Innovation to Market (stage gate) process - 10 years minimum
  • Successful development and application of ingredient, product, package or process technologies for complex R&D projects - 10 years minimum

Travel requirements:
~ 5-10% travel
Work schedule:
Hybrid working model but must be able to come to office to collaborate/connect with colleagues.
Within Country Relocation support available and for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
