Sr. Hardware Engineer

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. The Sr. Hardware Engineer leads the hardware design and development process, from concept to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

• Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify optimal hardware solutions for new product development
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, industrial designers, and product managers, to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components
• Develop detailed hardware designs, schematics, and PCB layouts, utilizing industry-standard design tools and methodologies
• Prototype, assemble, and test hardware systems and components, including the identification and resolution of any performance issues or design flaws
• Conduct rigorous performance and reliability testing, utilizing appropriate methodologies and equipment
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in hardware engineering and proactively apply new technologies and techniques to improve product performance and efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster professional growth
• Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure successful product manufacturing and delivery
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware engineering processes and methodologies, implementing efficiency-enhancing measures where applicable
• May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
• Other related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required
• Minimum five (5) years of experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Strong proficiency in hardware design tools, such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
