Sr. Hardware Engineer
Job Description
Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. What we do:The Sr. Hardware Engineer leads the hardware design and development process, from concept to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What you can do:- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify optimal hardware solutions for new product development
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, industrial designers, and product managers, to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components
- Develop detailed hardware designs, schematics, and PCB layouts, utilizing industry-standard design tools and methodologies
- Prototype, assemble, and test hardware systems and components, including the identification and resolution of any performance issues or design flaws
- Conduct rigorous performance and reliability testing, utilizing appropriate methodologies and equipment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in hardware engineering and proactively apply new technologies and techniques to improve product performance and efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster professional growth
- Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure successful product manufacturing and delivery
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware engineering processes and methodologies, implementing efficiency-enhancing measures where applicable
- May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
- Other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required
- Minimum five (5) years of experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Strong proficiency in hardware design tools, such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
