Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager performs HR related activities in all of the following functional areas: staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and training. Assists in maintaining a positive employee relations environment. Ensures prompt, efficient and courteous response to all employee relations issues in accordance with the Magna Employee's Charter.

Role Summary
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager performs HR related activities in all of the following functional areas: staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and training. Assists in maintaining a positive employee relations environment. Ensures prompt, efficient and courteous response to all employee relations issues in accordance with the Magna Employee's Charter.
Key Responsibilities
- Advises or assists the divisions' department managers in interpretations and administrations of HR policies, procedures and contract bargaining language (CBU).
- Deliver HR products and services, including labor agreements, in accordance with applicable employment laws, regulatory agencies, regulations, policies, and practices (e.g. ethics, health and safety)
- Investigate and prepare responses to grievances
- Build strong relationships with operations partners, Union representatives, HR colleagues and internal/external customers.
- Support HR efforts related to investigations, governmental inquiries/charges, grievance resolution, performance and absence management, complaints of unfair employment practices/discrimination, and disciplinary action.
- Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
- Manages all administrative aspects of leave to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the HR Generalists and Payroll to ensure that pay for associates is accurate and correct.
- Partners closely with all HR business partners on all leave cases.
- Manages STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Ensures that STD claims are coordinated with FMLA or general medical cases.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial & Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of generalist human resources experience with increasing responsibility within a unionized tier-one automotive manufacturing facility and with at least three (3) years in labor relations, compensation administration, training, and organization and development administration; and conducting internal investigations.

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software and ADP or similar HR tracking systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team oriented, communicates well with others and able to interact with people at all levels and departments
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills
