Job Description:

Description: Under direction from the Chief Information Security Officer and Manager of Information Security, the Senior Information Security Analyst assists with the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the District's information security program including security administration, security operations, risk management, education, policy/procedure development, and other required duties.
Typical Duties:

1. Assists the Manager of Information Security with daily operation and long-range planning for the Information Security Team.
2. Assigns service tickets to Information Security Analysts, reviews ticket documentation for accuracy, and counsels analysts on proper ticket preparation.
3. Discusses with end-users who require secure information technology solutions, including documentation of user requirements and coordination of Information Technology resources toward solution implementation.
4. Performs preliminary evaluation of Information Security Analyst job performance as a prelude to staff performance evaluations.
5. Monitors the work product of Information Security Analysts and ensures that work quality/quantity is performed in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures and management expectations.
6. Assists in the planning and conduct of information security risk management programs and remediation of issues.
7. Participates in activities that foster information security awareness among the District workforce.
8. Assists in the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
9. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; and
• A minimum three (3) years' work experience as a privacy-security compliance specialist, information security specialist, or information technology auditor;
OR
• A minimum seven (7) years' work experience as a privacy-security compliance specialist, information security specialist, or information technology auditor.

Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field(s) of study from an accredited college or university; and
• A minimum two (2) years' work experience as a privacy-security compliance specialist, information security specialist, or information technology auditor in a healthcare environment, with a minimum one (1) year in a senior or team lead role.

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• One (or more) of the following certifications:
  • Supported by the Information Systems Security Consortium (ISC²):
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP);
  • Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP);
  • Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP); or
  • Certified Authorization Professional (CAP).
• Supported by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA):
  • Certified Information System sAuditor (CISA);
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM);
  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT); or
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
