Job Description

This position is for an Sr. IT Manager (Sales) in the IT Sales, Marketing & SI team. Our team is committed to delivering best of breed technology platforms and experiences to MSI’s Global Sales organization. In this role you will help define, influence and guide our Sales technology roadmap, working closely with IT and business stakeholders. The scope of this role requires not only technical acumen but also a good understanding of the business drivers, processes and goals underpinning the day to day Sales operations. This is a high visibility role and is an ideal opportunity for someone with excellent thought leadership, business acumen, product management and communication skills.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations:

  • Act as the key IT contact for the North America Sales organization and ensure alignment between business objectives and technological solutions.

  • Lead a team of Business Analysts, Business System Analysts, & Product Owners to ensure initiatives are planned and executed on time and on budget.

  • Accountable for defining and influencing the product vision for Sales platforms and other key sales initiatives. This includes defining both standard and custom product features, and setting target goals.

  • Accountable for managing demand plan, prioritization and capability roadmap for Sales’ technology needs. 

  • Work closely with teams such as Sales, Marketing, Design & Learning Management to ensure that new initiatives and capabilities are developed and launched on schedule and within budget.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends to ensure that the platforms remain competitive.

  • Use data and analytics to track product performance, identify areas of improvement, and make decisions about future product development.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders such as sales users, vendors and other internal teams to keep them informed about initiatives, product development, performance & operations.

  • Organize and lead quarterly business reviews with strategic vendors and business stakeholders. 

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skill:

  • Prior experience with IT Business Relationship Management, Management Consulting and/or IT Consulting

  • Analytical skills - ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives and recommend sound decisions

  • People skills - a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts

  • Project management skills – ability to drive & lead meetings independently, create and execute project plans, proactively manage risks/issues, maintain compliance with company project management processes

  • Communication skills - ability to drive productive conversations, independently maintain project documentation, drive follow-up on open actions

  • Proficient in basic Google Applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides) as well as Atlassian application (Jira and Confluence)

  • Salesforce platform experience & PMP certification is a plus

  • Management Consulting experience is a plus

  • Experience using agile, scrum methodologies on projects

  • Self motivated and able to work independently

  • Ability to plan and organize work

  • Strong aptitude to learn

  • Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong written and oral communications skills, an eye for detail

  • Strong collaboration & active listening skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment

Note: Candidate must reside in the Chicagoland Area, in office 1-2 days a week.
